Southern Manhattan’s East Side at Night 001
A night view of the lights over Southern Manhattan‘s East Side. Recognizable buildings include the gold pyramid topped New York Life, the gold topped Metropolitan Life Insurance Clock Tower, Con Edison’s Clock Tower at Union Square. In addition, in the distance you can see the Manhattan Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge and Verrazano Bridge.

A wide view from mid-town Manhattan to points south in the late afternoon: The majestic New York City skyline including the Empire State Building, Bank of America Tower, 4 Times Square, and 1 Penn Plaza in the foreground, with the Hudson River, The World Trade Towers and the Statue of Liberty in the distance. You can see the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, Bank of America Tower, 4 Times Square, Met Life and even 30 Rock (you can see the unlit “GE” sign to the left of Met Life). This is contrasted with the industrial smokestacks at Con Edison’s 14th Street steam generating plant.
